Before we talk about U2 tour 2017, let’s talk more about this band in this review.

The Early Years in U2 Rock Band’s History

Speaking about the history of the U2 rock band, it is better to start right from their formation. You see, U2 was formed back on September 25, 1976, in Dublin, Ireland.

It is all started by Larry Mullen, Jr. posting a note on the notice board in his school, Mount Temple Comprehensive School, saying the search new band.

Six responded and after some practices, some of them were dropped. Then, they settle on “Feedback” name for the band. U2 is not their band’s name to begin with. Feedback was only one of the terms they knew.

Then, in 1977, Feedback played their first gig at St. Fintan’s High School and changed the name into “The Hype” with the idea of doing four-piece ensemble.

In 1978, they finally changed the band’s name into U2. As a 4-piece, U2 was capable of winning the talent contest in Limerick.

An Irish magazine called Hot Press was very helpful to them in their early years too.

Through this magazine, they got to be introduced to Paul McGuinness and became their manager in the middle of 1978.

Since then, U2 continued to sharpen their skills as they build their popularity by performing across the Ireland.
